Joyce Kluttz

SALISBURY - Mrs. Joyce Dare Hepler Kluttz, 82, of Salisbury, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.

Joyce was born in Thomasville on Nov. 19, 1930, to the late Charles Edgar Hepler and Vera Myers Hepler.

Mrs. Kluttz was a graduate of Fairgrove High School and Louise Harkey School of Nursing in Concord. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, registered nurse at the W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury and a community volunteer.

She was also a church organist, Sunday School teacher, Choir director, church play director and church missionary president.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, cake decorating and entertaining. She loved collecting dolls, dishes, antiques and children.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Hepler.

Mrs. Kluttz is survived by her husband, Ray Banks Kluttz Sr. who she married on Jan. 31, 1953; sons Keith McLeod and "Cathy" of Davenport, Iowa, Ray Banks Kluttz Jr. and "Janet" of Tega Cay, S.C., Charles Edwin Kluttz of Charlotte and Jonathan Kluttz and "Dawna" of Salisbury; daughters Teena Trussel and "Jeff" of Wingate, Darcey Beale and "Bob" of Benton, Ky., Kasee Page and "Jonathan" of Harrisburg, Pa., and Tamara Zeigler and "Todd" of St. Charles, Mo.; brothers Dennis Hepler of Greensboro and Randall Hepler of Camp Verde, Ari.

Grandchildren are Paul, Jamie, Scott, Rob and Jonathan McLeod, Tyler, Caroline, Jessica Lynn, Jacob, Mia and Laila Kluttz, Garret Trussell, Jeremy, Jordan and Kathryn Beale, Sierra, Jonas and Orrin Page, Logan, Grant and Zachary Zeigler; 10 great-grandchildren; nephew, Paul Lee Kluttz, Jr.; and nieces Vickie Hancock, Helen Kiker, Janice Payne and Susan Hepler.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Saturday, June 22 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell.

Services: The funeral service will be held on at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23 at Christiana Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Dan Downing. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens in Rockwell.

Memorials: May be made to the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House of Salisbury.
