Ray Kluttz Sr.

SALISBURY - Mr. Ray Banks Kluttz Sr., 86, of Salisbury, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Kluttz was born in Salisbury on Nov. 21, 1927, to the late Elbert Welker Kluttz and Addie Eagle Kluttz.

Mr. Kluttz was a graduate of Granite Quarry High School and Owosso Bible College in Owosso, Mich. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a successful businessman and co-owner of Kluttz Piano in Granite Quarry.

Ray was a family man. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. He and his wife had eight children that he loved very much. He was active in his church.

Ray enjoyed his time in the mountains and Outer Banks of North Carolina, loved traveling, boating and working with the Gideons.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Hepler Kluttz; and brother Paul Lee Kluttz.

Mr. Kluttz is survived by his sons Keith McLeod and "Cathy" of Milan, Ill., Banks Kluttz and "Janet" of Tega Cay, S.C., Charles Kluttz of Charlotte, and Jonathan Kluttz and "Dawna" of Salisbury; daughters Teena Trussell and "Jeff" of Wingate, Darcey Beale and "Bob" of Benton, Ky., Kasee Page and "Jonathan" of Hollywood, Fla., and Tamara Zeigler and "Todd" of St. Charles, Mo.

Also surviving are grandchildren Paul, Jamie, Scott, Rob and Jonathan McLeod, Tyler, Caroline, Jessica Lynn, Jacob, Mia and Laila Kluttz, Garret Trussell, Jeremy, Jordan and Kathryn Beale, Sierra, Jonas and Orrin Page, Logan, Grant and Zachary Zeigler; 10 great-grandchildren; nephew Paul Lee Kluttz, Jr.; and nieces Vickie Hancock, Helen Kiker, Janice Payne and Susan Hepler.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell.

Services: The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Christiana Lutheran Church, Salisbury, conducted by Rev. Carl Haynes and assisted by Rev. Dan Downing. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens in Rockwell.

Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Kluttz family.
