Notes for Mary Elizabeth “Betsy“ Trexler
Mary Elizabeth Misenheimer

GOLD HILL - Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Trexler Misenheimer, 84, of Gold Hill, went to her heavenly home to be with the "Good Man," as she always called him, and to be with those who preceded her in death at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov, 30.

Born Jan. 1, 1925 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Glenn Van Trexler and Beulah Ann Eagle Trexler.

In her early years, she went to Jackson College for elementary school, and she graduated from Rockwell High School in 1943. She worked as a seamstress at Rowan Industries in Rockwell. She was also a homemaker, helped her husband Sam on their dairy farm, and later helped him with their trucking company. She loved tatting, basket making, crocheting, knitting, gardening, and looking at beautiful flowers. One of her favorite things to do was to make cards with the tatting and share them with others.

"Betsy" was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, and a member of the Good News Sunday school class, the Challengers Circle, and the Ladies Home Demonstration Club.

Always grateful for the wonderful life she shared with Sam, Betsy always saw beauty around her. She has greatly impacted the lives of her family and her loved ones, showing them always the meaning of what it is like to truly love someone else. She set a wonderful example for all of us, and we will never forget her or the acts of love she has shown us.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by brothers, Thomas "Tom" S. Trexler, William "Bill" Trexler, Paul Hubert "Hubby" Trexler, and sisters Odelia T. Lyerly and Lucille T. Wagoner.

Mrs. Misenheimer is survived by her husband, Delmar Louvern "Sam" Misenheimer, whom she married Aug. 2, 1946; sons, Dennis "Mose" Misenheimer and wife Connie, Randy Allen Misenheimer and wife Peggy; daughter, Judy Elizabeth Misenheimer Goodnight and husband Fidel; brother Glenn Van "June" Trexler, Jr.; grandchildren, Samantha Misenheimer, Sam Misenheimer, Carrie Cross, Kacie Goodnight, Roxie Misenheimer and Waylon Misenheimer.
