Evelyn Trexler Hoffner

MT. ULLA - Evelyn Lucille Trexler Hoffner, 84, of Mt. Ulla passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at her residence.

She was born Nov. 29, 1928 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Beulah Holshouser and John Burns Trexler.

She was a graduate of Boyden High School. While in high school and in her early married life she worked at Kress Department Store and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, W.E.L.C.A., Homemakers Extension Club, Quilters Guild, Rowan County Fair Association and a 4-H Leader.

Evelyn was a loving and family oriented person who will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, J. B. Trexler, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory is husband, Leonard Hoffner of Mt.Ulla whom she married on Feb. 19, 1949; son, Alan Hoffner (Connie) of Mt. Ulla; daughters, Linda Silliman of China Grove, Karen Moore (Johnny) of Mt. Ulla, and Lori Corriher (Craig) of China Grove; sister, Doris Creason (Don) of Charlotte; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation & Service: 1-2:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall with service to follow at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary with the Rev. Mary Louise Sitton officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Family will be at the residence at other times.
