Sunday, December 4, 2011 — Walter Harding Clark, 90, of 2414 Idlewood Drive, Albemarle, N.C., passed away on December 1, 2011 at his home.

The family received friends at Bethany United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 3-4 p.m. The funeral followed at 4 p.m. in Bethany United Methodist Church. Rev. Charles Bowers and Rev. Rick Crouch officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.                        

Born in Stanly County, N.C.  on  May 24, 1921, he was the son of the late Daniel Nathaniel Clark and the late Mary Myrtle Glover Clark. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Furr Clark in 2007.

He was an overseer in the textile industry and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his sons; Jimmy and wife Doris of Albemarle, Steve and wife Patty of Coatesville, Pa. and Keith and wife Barbara of Albemarle; sisters, Lena Underwood and Dorothy Page, both of Albemarle; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
