Ruby Clark

Tuesday, January 1, 2008 — Ruby Furr Clark, 85, of 2414 Idelwood Drive, died at 1:56 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at Stanly Regional Medical Center.

Her funeral service was at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at Bethany United Methodist Church with The Rev. Tim Whittington officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. The family met at the home.

Born Aug. 27, 1922 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. Furr and Ronnie Barbee Furr. She attended Albemarle city schools and was employed with Wiscassett Plant No. 4 for 40 years. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and served as Sunday school teacher, was a member of United Methodist Women and worked in the church nursery. She loved music and was active in her church as long as her health permitted. Her first love was her family. She enjoyed reading.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Craig Furr, Pratt Furr and Marvin Furr and two sisters, Margaret Shaver and Betty Jo Almond.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Walter Harding Clark of the home; three sons, Jimmy F. Clark and Keith Wayne Clark, both of Albemarle, and Stephen Joe Clark of Coatesville, Pa; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 2411 U.S. 52 North, Albemarle, NC 28001.
