ALBEMARLE - The Rev. Bradford N. Shaver, 78, of 44032 Vickers Store Road, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Stanly Funeral Home. The body will remain at the funeral home until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Dunns Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Steve Jackson will officiate.

Burial will follow in Anderson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born Jan. 20, 1927, in Stanly County to the late Travis William and Eunice Thompson Shaver, he was educated in Stanly County Schools and the Fruitland Bible Institute.
He was a retired Baptist minister and farmer. He was a member of Dunns Grove Baptist Church, as well as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

He loved fishing and working in his shop and was an avid reader.

Survivors include his wife, Frances F. Shaver, of the home; a son, Bradford Eugene Shaver, of Albemarle; a stepson, Martin Rucker, of Alpharetta, Ga.; a daughter, Tammie Parr, of Woodstock, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Sandra Craft, of Lexington, S.C.; a brother, J.V. Shaver, of Clemmons, N.C.; six sisters, Claudine Hopkins of Albemarle, Annie Scott of Albemarle, Betty Hardin of Columbia, S.C., Lucille Rummage of Albemarle, Margie Gardner of Albemarle and Ruby Yow of Albemarle; seven grandchildren, Gary Eugene Shaver, Brad Parr, Meredith Parr, Melissa Rucker, Amanda Rucker, Sharon Berry and Bridget Lomoriello; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Dunns Grove Baptist Church, 38803 Ridge St. Ext., Albemarle, N.C. 28001.
