Calvin Donald Cox, age 80, of Randleman died Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Mr. Cox was born in Guilford County on October 13, 1935 to William Alton and Louise Cleveland Cox. Don was a Boy Scout. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. Along with his wife Sylvia, they operated Cox Custom Jewelers in Randleman for 38 years. He was a member of Salina Masonic Lodge #60 for 58 years, a Shriner, and a member of Eastern Star Wiesbaden #1. He was also a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association and President of the Rainey AFB, Puerto Rico Go Cart Club. Don was a member of the Fort Worth Watchmaker's Guild and the Zooland Regional Antique Auto Club of America. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia Ferree Cox, brother William Willard Cox and sisters Dorothy Ann Russell and Diana June Cox Smith.

He is survived by his daughters, Dr. Donna Jernigan and husband Floyd, MD of Waco, TX, Lynda Ruggiero and husband Richard of Randleman, NC; grandchildren, Finity Jernigan-Soukup and husband Ty of Denver, CO, Calvin Ruggiero of Randleman, NC, Amy Jernigan Snider and husband Jonathan of Waco, TX, Daniel Jernigan of Irving, TX; great grandchildren, Kirra Porter and Jaxson Snider both of Waco, TX.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Browers Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Carl Dunker officiating. Burial to follow in the Browers Chapel Road Cemetery.
