SALISBURY - Billy Wayne Mesimer, 58, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at his residence.
Born Aug. 7, 1951, in Rowan County to the late Lena Morgan Mesimer and Narvell Newman Mesimer, Billy obtained an Associate Degree from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
He worked for Cone Mills for 27 years in management. He was Maintenance Supervisor at Nazareth Children's Home for the last six years. Billy was a member of Nazareth Community Church in Rockwell.
He retired after 20 years of service with the U.S. Army Reserves 991st Transportation Co.
Billy is survived by a son, Jason Mesimer and his wife, Jesebel, of Floriana, Malta; and a daughter, Amanda Adams and husband Timothy of Newton. A brother, Harold Mesimer and his wife, Susan, of Salisbury; and three grandchildren, Mack Adams, Callum Mesimer and Caden Mesimer, also survive him.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at Summersett Funeral Home Wednesday, Feb. 24 from 7-9 p.m.
Service: The funeral service honoring Billy's life will be held at Nazareth Community Church Thursday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. with the Rev, Mike Shoaf officiating. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
Memorials: May be made to Nazareth Children's Home, or Nazareth Community Church.
