Barbara Thompson Masiello, 55, passed away Feb. 11, 2001, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Salisbury, N.C., and was a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach. She was an environmental specialist for the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.
She is survived by her husband, Remo A. Masiello; her parents, James and Yvonne Hamilton; four children, Cynthia, Sandra, Lisa and David; and four grandchildren, Easton, Shae, Benjamin and Sarah. She will be missed by her family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Assembly of God by the Rev. Dan Goff. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
