Betty Rose Peeler Setzer
Betty Rose Peeler Setzer, 90, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Autumn Care Nursing Home.
Born in Rowan County on October 10, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Clara Mae Agner and Charles Lewis Peeler.
Mrs. Setzer was a 1950 graduate of Rockwell High School. She was a lifelong member of Providence United Methodist Church where she served as the pianist and organist for church services, children’s choir, and vacation bible school. After she gave up playing the organ she sang in the church choir. She was part of the church quilters group and a member of the United Methodist Women’s group at the church. Mrs. Setzer played piano for a dance studio and worked as a phone operator before becoming a housewife and mother. She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Larry Setzer, whom she married on August 15, 1953 and sister, Ruby Peeler Poole.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Bradford Larry Setzer of Salisbury; daughter, Sharon Setzer Hall (Frank) of Salisbury; sister, Virginia Peeler Swindell of Salisbury; grandchildren, Angela Hall Eatmon (Matthew) of Angier, NC and Lauren Hall Poole (J.R.) of Salisbury; great-grandchildren, Gavin Eatmon and Mason Poole and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:00 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Providence United Methodist Church, 6450 Bringle Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC. Service will begin at 11:00 AM, conducted by the Rev. Aldana Allen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
