Anita Alberts Cline

Anita Alberts Cline, former actress who later made a name for herself as a public relations maven and entrepreneur, died Sept. 28 of lung cancer at her home in Los Angeles. She was 58.

The daughter of prominent society photographer Sergis Alberts, she graduated from Beverly Hills High School and Mills College. She became the youngest fashion editor at Mademoiselle Magazine before pursuing a career in acting.

She spent 30 years as a member of the Screen Actors Guild and appeared in a handful of features as well as numerous TV shows as Anita Alberts. TV credits include “Cannon” and “Hawaii Five-0.”

After her acting career, Cline joined Jay Bernstein Public Relations, where she handled publicity for such events as the Miss America Junior Pageant and even a world fair. She later established her own PR firm.

She served as spokeswoman for the Carnation Co. and traveled around the U.S. speaking about women’s issues. She later became a consultant and fund raiser for the National Assn. for Women Business Owners. Additionally she also served as CEO of the Leading Women Entrepreneurs and developed an event held in major capitals of the world honoring 40 each year.

She is survived by husband Wayne Cline and a sister.
