MINT HILL - Jody Wayne Whitley, 42, of Mint Hill, died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Whitley was born May 4, 1963, in Salisbury, a son of Dorothy Jane Setzer Whitley of Salisbury and the late Marvin L. Whitley. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was a graduate of Appalachian State University and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Whitley loved his Sunday school class and was a loyal friend to many. He loved the Lord and had a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior.
In addition to his mother, Jody is survived by his wife Angie Whitley; and their children Ryan, Morgan and Brett, all of Mint Hill; sister Jane Whitley of Charlotte; and brother Jeff Whitley of Salisbury.
Service: 11 a.m. Monday, from the sanctuary of Hickory Grove Baptist Church with The Reverend John Harrill officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
Visitation: 4-6 p.m. tonight at McEwen - Mint Hill Chapel.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Whitley Children's Assistance Fund, c/o Wachovia Bank, Mint Hill Branch.
