KANNAPOLIS - Marlene Shive Beaver, 69 of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at her daughter's residence.
She was born September 18, 1938, the daughter of Wilma O. Sells and the late Hal Shive.
Marlene was a volunteer at CMC-Northeast and Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County for many years and was retired from Rowan-Cabarrus College. Prior to her employment with Rowan-Cabarrus, she worked in the media center at Northwest Cabarrus High School.
Marlene was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeffrey Allen Beaver in 2002. In addition to her mother Wilma, she is survived by her devoted daughter, Scarlett B. Parker of Concord, brother, Coy Shive of Rockwell, beloved grandsons, Hunter M. Parker and Joshua D. Beaver of Concord, daughter-in-law, Kimberly Beaver Hill; as well as her nieces, nephew and friends.
Services: A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, November 25, 2007 at the New Hope Worship Center with Pastor Dale Jenkins and Chaplain Ric Durham officiating. A private inurnment will take place in Carolina Memorial Park at a later date.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Multipurpose Room.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials, be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, TN; New Hope Worship Center, Concord, NC; or Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, Kannapolis, NC.
Carolina Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Charlotte is entrusted with the arrangements.
