Mary Earnhardt Powlas

Mary Earnhardt Powlas, 85, of Salisbury passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at CMC-NorthEast. Mrs. Powlas was born on April 16, 1931 in Granite Quarry daughter of the late Jefferson Grover Earnhardt and Sadie Regina File Earnhardt. She was married to George Howard Powlas who preceded her in death.

She received her education at Granite Quarry High School, was a homemaker, a Lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. Mary cared for her family and friends and was a caregiver for so many many people. She helped raise five nieces. Her family was the joy of her life especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by parents and two sisters.

Survivors include sons, Jeffrey Powlas and wife Mita of Rockwell and Alan Powlas and wife Terri of Salisbury, Grandchildren, Ashley Young and husband Jeremy, Natalie Powlas and husband Anthony Tippins, Hailey Smith and husband Brandon, Garrett Powlas, Katie Misenheimer and husband Mark and Samantha Wells and husband Justin; Great Grandchildren, Christian Turner, Charlie Young, Cameron Young, Zoe Wells, Elin Wells, Hadley Misenheimer, six nieces and one nephew.

Visitation will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church fellowship hall from 12:30 to 1:45 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Funeral Services to follow at 2:00 PM in the Sanctuary conducted by Rev. D. J. Lura pastor with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family appreciates all the thoughts and prayers from family and friends. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Helping Hands Ministry.
