Ronnie Lee Page, 63, of Norwood, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 27, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his family and friends after a 15 month battle with cancer. Ronnie touched many lives through his battle with cancer. He kept fighting because he knew so many were praying for him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2010 at Norwood First Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Forrest and Rev. Paul Pickler will officiate and interment will follow in Norview Gardens with full military honors by the Stanly County DAV. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday evening at Edwards Funeral Home of Norwood.

Ronnie was born October 12, 1946 in Stanly County. He was the son of the late Calvin "Nick" Page Jr. and Lois Broadway Page who survives of Norwood. He was a General Building Contractor and owner of Ronnie's Construction. He was a US Navy Veteran and a member of Norwood First Baptist Church where he was instrumental in the renovation of the church sanctuary and the planning of the new fellowship hall.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the time he and Lou spent at Harker's Island. He enjoyed gardening and was a master wood worker.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Lou Shankle Page of the home; one daughter, Ansley Leigh Page of Norwood; three brothers, Don Page and wife Kathy, Barry Page and wife Cathy and Jeff Page and wife Crystal all of Norwood; two sisters, Terri Page of St. Augustine, FL, and Lori Page Becker and husband Bill of Marshall, NC; nieces and nephews, Trey and Ashley Hackney, Brinn, Leigh, Jessy, Nic and Drake Page; best friend and road trip buddy, Gerald Thompson of Albemarle.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Page Hackney.
