Betty Jean Biellier

Betty Jean Biellier, Columbia, died Sept. 20, 2001 in University Hospital and Clinics, Columbia.

She was born October 20, 1921 in Billings to Henry W. and Lelia F. Brown Garbee.

She graduated from Billings High School and attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield for two years. She married Harold Victor Biellier November 6, 1942 in Billings and he survives. She joined her husband at Columbia in 1942 where she worked at several positons while Harold was completing his education at the University of Missouri. Prior to 1960, she worked in the offices of the National Yorkshire Hog Registry and was office manager for the American Corriedale Assn. From 1960-1987 she served as Executive Secretary of the National Suffolk Sheep Assn. She was honored by that association in 1999 for her long standing distinguished service. She was a member of Missouri United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Harold V. Biellier of the home; a son, Wesley D. Biellier of Columbia; a daughter, Nancy A. Kitchen of Belle; two grandchildren, Louis Tritschler and Tracy Martinez, both of Columbia; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, in Missouri United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jim Bryan officiating, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or Missouri United Methodist Church Endowment Fund.
