Sunday, December 13, 2009 — Willie Mae Miller Yow, 85, of 48516 Willie Rd, Richfield, passed away on Dec. 10, 2009 at her home surrounded by her husband and children.
She was born in Stanly County on July 17, 1924. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rilla Hunt Miller and her father, Willie P. Miller.
The family will meet at the home. She was a great quilter. She loved her flower gardening and she also loved trips to the beach. She had been employed by China Grove Cottom Mills, in China Grove and was a member of Richfield UMC.
A visitation was held on Friday, Dec. 11, from 6-8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle.
Funeral service was on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel, 522 N. 2nd, Albemarle, with the ministers, Rev. Curtis Goforth, Rev. Jim Allred, and Rev. Robert Cauble officiating.
Burial followed at Richfield Cemetery.
She was survived by her spouse, Dewey Yow of Richfield; her daughter, Cathy Susan Yow Potter of Richfield; her sons, Bobby John Yow and wife Sedonia of Richfield; Tommy Wayne Yow and wife Patti of Richfield; her grandchildren, Derek Yow, Chris Yow, Tangie Laws, Angie Beane; 6 great grandchildren; her sisters, Gladys M. Almond of Richfield, Lynn M. Smith of Albemarle; and her brother ‑ L.C. Miller of Albemarle.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St. Albemarle, NC 28001.
