SALISBURY - Floyd Eugene Morgan, age 69, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at his residence.

Mr. Morgan was born May 2, 1939, in Rowan County. He was the son of the Late JC Morgan and Lillie Trexler Morgan.

Mr. Morgan graduated in 1958 from Rockwell High School. He was the owner and operator of Floyd's Grocery for 25 years. He retired from Food Lion as a truck driver.

Mr. Morgan was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church and Union Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Morgan; and two sisters, Eula Mae Morgan and Remelle Morgan.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Anne Hill Morgan; son, Albert Eugene Morgan and special friend, Holly Dwyer of Salisbury; daughters, Belinda Morgan Lee and husband, Alton Lee Jr. of Concord and Cheryl Morgan Owen and husband, David of Richfield; four grandchildren, Jamey Lee, Levi Morgan, Jordan Owen and John David Owen; two brothers, JC "Carr" Morgan of Granite Quarry and Kenneth Morgan of Richfield; and one sister, Irene Carter of Kannapolis.

Services and Burial: Funeral Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17 at Liberty United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Cunningham, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.

Visitation: The family will be at Powles Funeral Home from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday and at the residence the remainder of the time.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church Building Fund, or to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, Salisbury, NC.
