Notes for Wade Franklin Hill
Wade Hill

Tuesday, November 26, 2013 — On Sunday morning, November 24, 2013, Heaven gained another precious saint. Wade Franklin Hill of Albemarle was called home. He passed away at his home surrounded by his loving wife and other members of his family.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Clough officiating. Pallbearers for Wade will be his four grandsons, nephew Todd Huneycutt and friend Jessie Hathcock.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. If you are unable to attend the funeral, please feel free to come and visit with the family afterward. They would love to see you.

Wade was born on April 22, 1927, in Davidson County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Richard Milas Hill and the late Zona Stallings Hill, and was a graduate of Albemarle High School. He served for two years in the Merchant Marine Service during and at the end of World War II.

He was the founder, owner and operator of Hill’s Refrigeration Service until his retirement in 1993. A member of Bethany United Methodist Church, he was a former Sunday School Teacher and Youth Counselor.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean Huneycutt Hill of the home; two sons, Barry Franklin Hill and wife Toni of Durham and Mark Steven Hill and wife Sherri of New London. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Nicholas Alexander Hill and wife Kelly, Russell Coggins Hill and wife Cana, Calvin Norris Hill and wife Kaytee, Paul Barrett Hill and Mary Deese Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Alexander Hill and Kathryn Elizabeth Hill; and a very special friend, Pat Pettiford.

Wade loved spending time with his family and sitting in the sunshine in his swing. He also enjoyed being with his church family, and in the last two years rarely missed an opportunity to attend the activities at Bethany. He will be truly missed by his family and those who knew him well.

The family expresses their thanks and gratitude for all those who have visited with him and made his last days on earth brighter. They would also like to extend many thanks and much gratitude to Nurse Robin Rogers of Hospice of Stanly County.

Memorials made be made to Hospice of Stanly County, or to Bethany United Methodist Church.
