Joseph Charles (Joe) Kepley
Joseph Charles (Joe) Kepley, 89, of Roanoke, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2013. Joe was the son of Charlie Lee and Ester Kepley. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He then attended Catawba College and graduated in 1949.
After graduating, he married Betty Grey Fesperman on August 18, 1949. He went to work for Cannon Mills and most of his sales career was with National Cash Register until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and had served as an elder at Colonial Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Yountz; and brother, John Kepley.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Grey; three sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and wife, Diane, Mark and wife, Stephanie, and Jeff and wife, Marion; grandchildren, Jason, Kate, Anna, Collin, Seth, Rachel and Cole; great-grandson, Gage; brother, Jack Kepley and wife, Marge; sisters, Violet Beck, and Rachel Cox and husband, Howard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Second Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gerald Carter officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 3, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Oakey's South Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, Roanoke, VA.
