Donald Eugene Frye
Mr. Donald Eugene Frye, 80, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Carolina Memorial Park. Rev. Jarrod Lanning will officiate.
The family will receive friends after the service at Carolina Memorial Park.
Mr. Frye was born on November 8, 1932 in Iredell County. He was a son of the late Jay Will Frye and Violet Savannah Davis Frye. He graduated from Landis High School and attended Catawba College. Mr. Frye served in the US Navy for four years on a Mine Sweeper during the Korean War. He retired from the Southern Railroad after thirty years as a lineman. Mr. Frye was a member of VFW Post 8989 in Kannapolis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, John Darrell Frye; and brother, Pete Frye.
Mr. Frye is survived by his wife, Joan Eller Frye; daughter, Donna Frye Tilley of China Grove; son, Stan Frye of Emerald Isle; brother, Rayvon Frye of Mooresville; two grandchildren, Mikki Hartzog and John Lucas Frye.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Building Fund, 108 West Rice Street, Landis, NC.
