Mildred A. Ross
Mildred A. Ross, 95, of Badin, NC, passed away Friday, January 08, 2016 at Stanly Manor in Albemarle. Her funeral will be at 2 PM on Sunday, January 10, in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Wray officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1PM until 2 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. The burial will be at Fairview Memorial Park immediately following the service.
Born March 9, 1920 in Rowan County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charley Arey and Esther Bolton Arey. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Badin and was very involved in the church activities. She attended Efird School in Albemarle and worked from her home several years as a seamstress. Mildred was retired from Federal Pacific.
Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her husband James Rickard Ross as well as one brother, four sisters, and one daughter, Loretta Brown. Mildred is survived by one son, Lanny Ross (Vicki) of Badin, two daughters, Janelle Poplin (Doug) of Albemarle, and Shirley Hinson of Albemarle. Other survivors include 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to Community Homecare and Hospice, or to First Presbyterian Church of Badin.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Spring Arbor for their love and care for Mildred.
