Ruby Lambert Lowder

Ruby Lambert Lowder, a lifelong resident of the Millingport community passed away at her home on Thursday, December 31, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Ruby was born in Albemarle, North Carolina to the late Lalah L. Eudy and Gurley R. Lambert on February 24, 1936. Ruby graduated from Millingport High School in 1953 and served as Valedictorian of her class. She married Donald B. ”Don” Lowder on June 6, 1953 and they were together until his death in 2005.

Ruby was a homemaker, baker, master gardener, and proudly proclaimed her titles as Moma and Granny Lowder as Gods greatest gifts. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, reading, working in her yard, antiques, and spending time with her family. She was a lifelong active member of Salem United Methodist Church where she held numerous jobs throughout her life. Ruby’s life centered on her faith, her family and her friends.

Also proceeding her in death were her step-father, Anderson Eudy, two grand- daughters and her nephew, Chris Eudy.

Ruby is survived by her four daughters, Donna L. Taylor (David) of Kannapolis, NC. Gwen L. Hinson (Mike) of New London, NC. Cindy L. Blackman (Coy) of Monroe, NC and Bonnie L. Ward (Dale) of Badin, NC. She is further survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Ruby is also survived by her brother and sister in law, Kenneth L. Sam Eudy and Patsy Eudy of Albemarle, NC.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 2. 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle, NC. A celebration of her life will be conducted by Reverend Steve Combs at Salem United Methodist Church on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with graveside service to follow.

Memorials may be sent to the New Building Fund of Salem United Methodist Church. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her illness, particularly Sherri, Carol, Brandi and Nancy of Hospice of Stanly County and the staff at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
