Donald Linwood Marion, 84, of Albemarle passed away Wedneday, November 20, 2019 in his home. His funeral service will 2 PM Friday, November 22, 2019 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Ray Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle.
Born April 23, 1935 in Guilford County, NC he was the son of the late Irvin Marion and Ann Elizabeth Collins Marion. He was a graduate of Richfield High School and was a retired truck driver with Morning Glory Eggs. He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church, a veteran of the US Army, and a lifetime member of the Stanly County DAV Chapter 12.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Jane Featherstone Marion of Albemarle, a daughter Pamela R. Govier of Albemarle, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Thurman Marion.
