Peggy Jane Marion
Peggy Jane Featherstone Marion, 87, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Spring Arbor. Her funeral service will be 2pm Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel with Pastor Ray Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6pm until 8pm at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle.
She was born April 19, 1934 in Gaston County, NC, to the late John Walter and Dora Lea Earnhardt Featherstone. She attended Shaver School, graduated from Rockwell High School and later from Stanly Community College for Computer Science.
She retired from Enterprise Rendering Co. of Oakboro, where she strived to make the company the very best alongside her supervisor and good friend, “Bud”.
Peggy was a longtime member of Prospect Baptist Church and of the Stanly County DAV Ladies Auxillary.
Peggy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Donald L. Marion and a brother Clyde Featherstone.
Survivors include daughter, Pamela Joy Govier; four siblings, Helen Eddleman, Sue Wiles, Hazel Poteat and Lewis Featherstone.
Danny and Lisa Featherstone would like to thank the staff at Spring Arbor of Albemarle for all the love and care shown to Peggy during her stay.
In lieu of flowers, you may honor Peggy by gifts to the “Cottage” staff of Spring Arbor, 315 Park Ridge Rd, Albemarle, NC; or make a memorial contribution to Hospice of Stanly and The Uwharrie.
