Larry “Roy” Trexler
Mr. Larry “Roy” Trexler, 69, of Rockwell died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Trexler was born on May 13, 1938 in Rowan County, a son of the late David Earl and Elsie Mae Kluttz Trexler. He was a 1958 graduate of China Grove High School, and had worked with his brothers at Trexler Automotive in Rockwell. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of Miller-Russell American Legion Post of Rockwell. Mr. Trexler was a member of Organ Lutheran Church, and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Trexler was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Earl Trexler.
Survivors include his wife, Gaye Maners Trexler whom he married on May 6, 1967. A son Larry Trexler and wife Michelle of Salisbury; a daughter, Sherrie Trexler of Louisville KY. Brothers, Butch Trexler, and Troy Trexler, both of Rockwell. And two grandsons, Seth Trexler and Justin Cook, both of Salisbury.
The family will receive friends tonight at Powles Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 PM, and at the residence the remainder of the time.
Services will be 2:00 PM Friday July 13, 2007 at Organ Lutheran Church with the Rev. Terrell Long, pastor officiating, and the Rev. Robert Yount assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Rowan County Rescue Squad, or to Hospice and Palliative Care.
