Sylvia Burleson Prater, 72 of Salisbury passed away, Friday January 11, 2013 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 16, 1940 in Albemarle, the daughter of the late Lillie Lambert Burleson Hartsoe and Howard Bratton Burleson.
She was educated in the Albemarle schools and was a CNA at the Meadows of Rockwell before retiring.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William B. Johnson, Jr. on September 11, 2011, sisters, Jeanette Burleson Shepherd and Phyllis Burleson and a great-grandson, Liam Johnson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dwayne Prater, whom she married, May 5, 1990; children, Cherry Johnson Greene of Salisbury and Larry Wayne Daniel and wife Jodie Lewis Daniel of Salisbury; brother, Howard Marion Burleson of Georgia; grandchildren, Candis Johnson Harris, William Brandon Johnson, Jeanie Marie Johnson, Logan Tyler Daniel and Ryan Wilson Lewis; great-grandchildren, Kailey Harris, Gavin Johnson, Hannah Nicole Johnson, Evan Johnson and Preston Wilson Lewis.
Visitation: 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, Thursday, January 17, 2013 the Prater residence.
