Cynthia "Cindy" Rhinehart Hemmings
Cynthia "Cindy" Rhinehart Hemmings 62 of Granite Quarry passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Hemmings was born on March 20, 1953 in San Diego, CA, a daughter of Shirley Peeler Rhinehart and the late Bruce Arnold Rhinehart.
Cindy was a client at Rowan Vocational Opportunity for 46 years, she also worked in the housekeeping department at Catawba College for 2 years. Cindy was a member of The Salvation Army Church. Her greatest love was taking care of children in the nursery at her church and helping anyone who needed help. Cindy also loved animals.
In addition to her mother, Cindy is survived by her husband of over 24 years, David Neal Hemmings who she married on December 22, 1990. Sister, Patti Morgan and husband Tim of Yadkinville; 2 special nephews, Chris Morgan and wife Alexis of East Bend and Jon Morgan and wife Jessica of Leander, TX; and 2 great nieces Addy and Hadley.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 18th at 1:00 pm at the Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Captain Nakisha Carr, Pastor of The Salvation Army Church and Rev Jon Schell Pastor of St. Luke's Reformed Church. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Thomas Ginn for his years of care as well as Dr. William Brinkley, Dr. Holland and the care team at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center and Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care.
