Martha Catherine Furr Plowman
ALBEMARLE - Martha Catherine Furr Plowman, 92, 24724 U.S. 52 Hwy. S., died Thursday (Sept. 28, 2000) at Albemarle Lutheran Nursing Home.
Born April 1, 1908, in Stanly County, Mrs. Plowman was a daughter of the late Israel and Sarah Catherine Hatley Furr. She was a homemaker and a member of Paul's Crossing Baptist Church. Her husband, the Rev. K.L. Plowman, and a son, Lloyd Plowman, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons Ray Plowman, Mount Pleasant, James Plowman, Albemarle, and Carl Lee Plowman, Pensacola, Fla.; daughters Helen Ruth Loflin, Rockwell, and Emma Jewel Wood, Albemarle; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 4 p.m. Saturday, Paul's Crossing Baptist Church, Richfield, conducted by the Rev. Jessie R. Dennis and the Rev. Delane Burris. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 6-8 tonight , Hartsell Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of son James Plowman, 1123 E. Cannon.
