Notes for Dwight Aaron Love
Dwight Love

Dwight Aaron Love, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, died at the N.C Veterans Home in Salisbury on Aug. 3, 2015, after a period of declining health.

A celebration of Dwight's life will be held at Bethel (Bear Creek) United Church of Christ, 18937 Bear Creek Church Road, Mt. Pleasant, on Thursday, Aug. 6, beginning at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Terri Barringer officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 3 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

A native of Cabarrus County Dwight was the son of the late Banks and Mamie Hurlocker Moose. A graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Dwight was a retired carpenter who was known for his ability to fix anything.

A lifetime member of Bethel (Bear Creek) UCC, Dwight served his church as an active member of the Men's Fellowship and as the handyman of record for the church. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and raising dogs, especially beagles. His favorite past time, however, was boating at High Rock Lake, where he delighted in teaching many a child how to water ski.

Dwight served his country in Korea as a member of the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 51 and the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Zelma Ford Love; two sons, Dale Love (Meg) and Jeff Love (Karen); three daughters, Nancy L. McIntyre (Roy), Joyce L. Eudy (Ronnie) and Barbara L. Eudy (Randell); eight grandchildren, Andrea Russell, Scott McIntyre, Sarah Love, Phillip Eudy, Jessica Love, Lane Eudy, Mark McIntyre and Andrew Love; and four great-grandchildren, Ava Russell, Isley McIntyre, Macy McIntyre and Jonah Russell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in memory of Dwight be made to Bethel (Bear Creek) UCC.
