Barry Herbert Ridenhour, 71, of Locust, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus, Concord, NC. His funeral service will be 3pm Saturday, September 30, 2023 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel of Locust with Rev. Keith Walters officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1pm until 2:30pm.
He was born May 24, 1952 in Stanly County, NC to the late Ralph Harold Ridenhour and Margaret Deletta Efird Ridenhour Edwards. Barry was a member of Oakboro Baptist Church, and he attended Locust Presbyterian Church. Mr. Ridenhour formerly worked with Davey Tree Expert Company, and he retired from Bass Pro, Concord Mills location.
Barry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kay Page Ridenhour of the home. He is also survived by a son, Garrett Gene Ridenhour (Wendi) of Stanfield, NC; Starla Ridenhour Hathcock (Wayne) of Stanfield, NC; a brother. Steve Ridenhour (Sheri) of Richfield, NC; three half-brothers, Steven Ridenhour of Marshville, NC, Barry “Clete” Ridenhour of Concord, NC and Ralph Ridenhour, Jr. of Concord, NC; five grandchildren, Tyler Ridenhour, Nicholas Ridenhour, Jacob Ridenhour, Aaron Hathcock and Dalton Hathcock and a great-grandson, Archer Ridenhour. Barry was also preceded in death by a sister, Melody Ridenhour.
