SALISBURY - Mrs. Jean Shaver Parks, 81, of Salisbury, who was currently residing in Taylors, S.C., with her son Michael and Linda Parks, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2015.
Born July 29, 1933, in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Inez Goodman Shaver and Ray E. Shaver. Mrs. Parks was a graduate of Boyden High School. She worked as a supervisor at JC Penny until retirement. She enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of the HRVC recreational vehicle traveling club.
Mrs. Parks was a loving member of Providence United Methodist Church, where she was active with WMU and the Circle of Friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Jack Edward Parks, who died June 27, 2011.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons Michael Parks (Linda) of Taylors, S.C., Jack E. Parks Jr. (Allida) of Weddington; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Arrangements: Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19 at Providence United Methodist Church. The family will speak to friends following the graveside service.
Memorials: May be made to Providence United Methodist Church, 6450 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
