Banks Oren Bost

Mr. Banks Oren Bost, 85, of Salisbury passed away on Sunday February 28th at the NC State Veterans Home. Mr. Bost was born on January 9, 1931 a son of the late Oren John Bost and the late Stella Sides Bost.

He was a 1949 graduate of Rockwell High School and attended Rowan Technical Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Nicholas during the Korean War. After returning home, he was the owner of Banks Bost Construction Co. until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church having served on the church council and many different committees including the Offering Teller. He was a member of and the former Commander of the Faith American legion Post 327. Member and past president of the Faith Jaycees.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter; Cynthia Bost Begbie and Grandson; Chad Bost.

Survivors include his wife, Roana Agner Bost whom he married on November 16, 1952. Son Brent Bost of Faith. Daughter Beth Lackey of Salisbury. Son-in-law Alan Begbie. Brother; Oscar Bost and wife Daisy of Faith and Sisters; Lucille Vanhoy and husband Everette and Rachel Miller and husband, David, both of Gold Hill. Six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday March 3 from 1:00pm – 2:30pm at the Family Life Center of Faith Lutheran Church.

Funeral Services will follow at 2:30pm at Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bill Ketchie, Interim Pastor officiating.

A Military Graveside service will follow at Faith Lutheran Cemetery with the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard and the NC National Guard Honor Guard providing military honors.

Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Debt Reduction, Faith NC.
