Ralph Lane Barringer

Ralph Lane Barringer, 92, of Mt. Gilead, surrounded by his loving family, passed away Friday August 21, 2015 at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday August 24, 2015, at Stoney Fork Baptist Church. Ron Honeycutt and Terry Burris will officiate and burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead.

Mr. Barringer was born on April 15, 1923 in Stanly County to the late Unice Collie and Lillie Mae Miller Barringer. He was a faithful member at Stoney Fork Baptist Church. Lane loved to watch racing, baseball, and wrestling.Lane retired from Cassicatillon and also worked for Weiser Security Services.

In addition to his parents , he was preceded in death by his brother Ben Barringer and sisters Ethel Earp and Margaret Almond; two grandchildren, Marty Hopkins and Terry Deese.

He is survived by his loving wife Nellie Thompson Barringer of the home. Five Children: Mary Barringer Tyson (David) of Norwood, Judy Cox of North Myrtle Beach, SC, John Lane Barringer of Mt. Gilead, Christopher Glenn Barringer (Kathy) of Sanford, and Angela Barringer Huneycutt (Derry) of Norwood. 16 Grandchildren: Tony Barringer, Darryl Hopkins, Tracy Deese, Timothy Deese, Ashley Council, Magen Jarrell, Phillip Barringer, Allen Barringer, Adam Barringer, Amanda Loflin, Katie Barringer, Tabitha Hartsell, Dwight Huneycutt, Kirri Flanders, Kristie Augustyn, and Phillip Cox.  17 Great-Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great- Grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Stanly & the Uwharrie and Phyllis Scott (Cucumber) for their love and compassionate care during this difficult time.
