Sarah Welch
Sarah Welch, 84, of Rockwell, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.
She was born November 23, 1939 in Rowan County, NC to the late Jesse Lovette and Freida Goodman Lovette.
Sarah worked as a waitress at the Chicken and Oyster Shack for 22 years and then she retired from Tri State Medical Supply. She was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church.
Mrs. Welch enjoyed crocheting, shopping, and she loved trips to the beach. She enjoyed watching classic television shows.
In addition to parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her Husband, Luther Welch, Daughter, Cathy Ellenburg and by Grandson, James Timothy Safrit, II.
Sarah is survived by her Two Daughters, Janice Holshouser of Rockwell, NC, Velma West; Son, James Welch; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and be her significant other, Jay Welch.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC.
Burial will take place in the Rowan Memorial Park on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 following the visitation.
