Jeneece Elaine Solomon Williams
Jeneece Elaine Solomon Williams, born July 5, 1949, to the late Leonard Martin Solomon and Mildred Talbert Haney, beloved wife of Gary Williams, mother of Denise Williams, Debra Cadovius & Jonathan Williams, and sister of Stephen Wayne Solomon, died peacefully at home January 16th 2016 after a long battle with multiple myeloma.
A brilliant pianist, organist, vocalist, and choir director, Elaine lent her talents to small churches across southeastern North Carolina for over 30 years, urging four-part harmony and miraculous sounds of praise from communities with no budgets or formal training.
In addition to her many years saving offices from chaos with her organizational skills and typing speeds, she was granted a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1996. It was an accomplishment of which she was most proud, having slowly earned credits over the years while raising three children and often working full time.
Elaine enjoyed crochet, quilting, cross-stitch, and other crafts and was a constant source of artistic inspiration to her children and five grand-children, gifting them all manner of raw materials that never seemed to magically transform into afghans, scarves, and hats as effortlessly as they did in her own skilled hands.
Stanly Funeral Home, Albemarle, has been entrusted with arrangements including a memorial fund for those who would like to contribute.
The family will be receiving friends at 1:00pm Friday, January 22; services are scheduled to follow at 2pm.
