Mildred T. Haney, 87, of Lumberton, formerly of Albemarle, passed away Friday November 28, 2014 in Wesley Pines Nursing Facility, Lumberton, NC. Her funeral service will be 2 PM Monday, December 1, 2014 at Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Longfon officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the service.
Born April 24, 1927 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late P.A. and Gertie Talbert and was a retired Cafeteria Manager of Albemarle City Schools. She was a member of West Albemarle Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Mr. Leonard M. Solomon and second husband Mr. Marvin L. Haney. She was also preceded by three brothers Roy, Willie and Calvin Talbert and three sisters Agnes Hopkins, Flossie Pennington and Rene Snuggs. Survivors include son Wayne Solomon of Shelby, NC, daughter Elaine S. Williams of White Oak, NC, five grandchildren Ashley Solomon of Boiling Springs, NC, Stephanie Center of Cliffside, NC, Jonathan Williams of Raleigh, NC, Debra Cadovious of Silverdale, WA, Denise Williams of Myrtle Beach, SC and eight great-grandchildren Zackery, Savannah, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Erick, Ethan, Elizabeth, and Ion and one special niece Mabel Harwood of Norwood, NC.
