Junior Thomas "J.T." Misenheimer, 78, of Miller Road, Richfield, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy, Charlotte. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the hour of the graveside service. The public may drop in to pay their respects at the funeral home at other hours. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, at New Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Richfield, with The Rev. Ray Johnson will officiating.
Born May 31, 1930, in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Thomas Clayborn and Helen Goodman Misenheimer. He was a retired employee of Fieldcrest Cannon and a member of New Bethel Lutheran Church.
He was married to Betty Almond Misenheimer of the home.
Other survivors include a son, David Lee Misenheimer and wife, Hazel, of Richfield; two daughters, Iris Misenheimer Carman and husband, Stan, of Wilkesboro and Alda Kay Misenheimer of Maryland; a sister, Betty Misenheimer Rogers of Richfield; two grandchildren, Tony Lee Misenheimer and Melissa Misenheimer Harrington; and a great-grandchild, Caleb Gabriel Harrington. A sister, Bernice Misenheimer Monroe, preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to: New Bethel Lutheran Church, Richfield; or Congregational Christian Church, Albemarle.
