Tuesday, November 6, 2011 — Mrs. Betty Almond Misenheimer, age 80, of Richfield, N.C., died Sunday December 4, 2011 at 5:19 p.m. in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, N.C.

The family received friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2011 at Stanly Funeral Home, Albemarle. Her graveside service was at 3 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2011 at New Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery with Rev. Donald Johnson officiating.

Born January 20, 1931 in Stanly County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late John Franklin Almond and Flossie Harrington Almond.

She was educated at Efird School and was a homemaker. She was a member of New Bethel Lutheran Church and she loved her flower gardens and her birds.

Mrs. Misenheimer was married to the late “J.T.” Junior Thomas Misenheimer.

Survivors include one son, David Misenheimer and wife Hazel of Richfield; two daughters, Iris Carman and husband Stan of Wilkesboro and Alda Kaye Misenheimer of Graysonville, Md.; one brother, Hoyle Keith Almond of Albemarle; one sister, Barbara Ann Almond of Albemarle; two grandchildren, Melissa Harrington and husband Jason and Tony Misenheimer and wife Regina, all of Richfield; and one great-grandson, Caleb Harrington.

Stanly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
