Odelia Trexler Lyerly, 83, Salisbury, died Sunday (Sept. 23, 2001) at Genesis Eldercare.

Born Nov. 5, 1917, in Rowan County, Mrs. Lyerly was a daughter of the late Glenn V. and Beulah Eagle Trexler. She was a 1937 graduate of Rockwell High School and a homemaker who, in her earlier years, was a knitter at Heist-McCain Hosiery Mills.

She was a member of Christiana Lutheran Church, WELCA Group and the Granite Quarry Golden Age Club.

Survivors include husband Harry S. Lyerly, whom she married March 6, 1942; son Larry D. Lyerly, Gold Hill; daughter Brenda Lyerly Thomason, Gold Hill; brother Glenn V. Trexler Jr., Gold Hill; sister Mary Elizabeth Misenheimer, Gold Hill; and three grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Christiana Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Carl Haynes, pastor. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 6:30-8 tonight, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.
