Jeff Barringer
Jeff Barringer, 59, of Cave Springs, AR passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023.
He was born March 11, 1964 in Rowan County, NC to Barbara Jackson Barringer and the late James Paul Barringer, Jr.
Jeff was a 1982 graduate of South Rowan High School and enjoyed playing football for the Raiders. In 1981 he was the defensive player of the year for Rowan County football where multiple honors were received including All-State football. After high school, Jeff continued to succeed in his football career playing for Duke University as a defensive lineman and graduated in 1986 where became an avid Duke fan. He was a pharmaceutical representative for more than 20 years. Jeff was an outdoorsman, who loved fishing, boating, bicycling and running. He loved to travel and explore the outdoors, but most of all spending time with his family.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Barringer, grandparents, Paul and Ruby Barringer and Harvey and Adelaide Jackson.
In addition to his mother, Jeff is survived by his wife Claudia Barringer; his children, Conner Barringer and Madison Barringer; brother, Kelly Barringer and wife Tammy; sister, Sharon Smith and husband Tim; brother, Chris Barringer and wife Tina; sister-in-law, Christine Barringer and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Jeff's life will take place on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Jeff may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation in Durham.
Powles Staton Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Barringer family with arrangements in North Carolina.
