Mary Livengood Artz
Mrs. Mary Livengood Artz, 84 of Rockwell, NC passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013. Mary was born October 10, 1928 in Rowan County, the daughter of the late J.C. Livengood and Purnie Bell Copley Livengood.
Mary was educated in the Rowan County Schools. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Rockwell, and was a homemaker. She dearly loved her family, enjoyed poetry, playing and watching baseball and liked to fish.
In addition to her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Harold and Richard Livengood; sisters, Shirley Livengood, Ruby Morgan and Lucille Lentz.
Survivors: husband, Lonnie Alexander Artz, son, Danny Artz and wife, Peggy of Rockwell, daughter, Kay Owens and husband, Dave of Cedar Point, NC , Jill Hartman of Rockwell, brother, Pete Livengood, sisters, Betty Lippard, Dolly Honeycutt, Sally Schenk, Becky Yost and Linda Rainey, grandchildren, Jamie Dubois, Shelly Curry, Jason and Jeremy Hartman and Dustin Artz, and great-grandchildren, Owen, Molly, Gracie and Cooper Hartman, Makena & Brynne Dubois and Chase & Lexi Curry.
Visitation: 12:30 to 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church, Rockwell.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. John Houghton, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be payable to Danny Artz to offset medical expenses, 1370 Crescent Road, Rockwell, NC.
