Friday, June 13, 2014 — Roderick Leland Rice, 61, of Albemarle, passed away early Thursday morning, June 12, 2014, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. The Rev. Gene Hopkins and Preacher John Holt will officiate and interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home, Norwood.
Mr. Rice was born December 28, 1952, in Stanly County, to the late James Albert Rice and Geneva Frick Rice, who survives of the home.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served his country in Vietnam. He was a member of Silver Road Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Mitchell Blaine Rice and Tisha Michelle Brown, both of Albemarle; and two grandchildren, Kayla Brown and Madison Rice.
