Tuesday, December 21, 2010 — Patricia Hudson Burris, 55, of 38417 Old Cottonville Road, Norwood, went home to be with Jesus on Dec. 19, 2010, after a heroic battle with cancer.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Cottonville Baptist Church with visitation immediately following. Reverend Dale Brooks and Reverend Alex Willoughby will officiate. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Cottonville Baptist Cemetery.
Pat was born Nov. 12, 1955, in Stanly County. She was the daughter of Vervle and the late Ruth Meggs Hudson, who preceded her in death on July 4, 1983. She was employed at Jordan Lumber Company Forestry Department. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend to all. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, Sadye and Dalton. She had an abundance of Godly wisdom and a very loving, creative nature. She was loved by all.
She is survived by her husband, Doug, of the home; daughter, Tammy Helms and husband, Johnny; brother, Darrell Hudson and wife, Shelia; two sisters, Cynthia Greene and husband, Garry, and Shirley Summerlin and husband, Max. She has three step-daughters, Lisa Goodson, Sarah Shipman and Jennifer Stokes, and six step-grandchildren. She had many special cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
