The funeral will be Tuesday for Virginia Brinkley Yoe Kirchin, 75, Salisbury, who died Saturday (Jan. 4, 2003) at Genesis Eldercare.
Born June 20, 1927, in Union County, Mrs. Kirchin was a daughter of the late William Foil and Mamie Garland Brinkley. She graduated from Granite Quarry High School and attended Catawba College.
She worked for the Rowan County School System, was secretary and treasurer of W.F. Brinkley Construction; and president of Scepter Reality and Granite Reality. A member of Christiana Lutheran Church, she was a former member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, Granite Quarry.
Her first husband, Thomas H. Yoe Jr., died in 1987.
Survivors include husband William S. Kirchin, whom she married Feb. 3, 1990; sons Steve and Thomas "Tip" Yoe, both of Granite Quarry; daughter Shirley Eagle, Granite Quarry; stepsons Kent Kirchin, Burlington, and Ernie Kirchin, Salisbury; stepdaughters Priscilla Britton, Dallas, and Jan Yelton, Concord; brother W.F. Brinkley Jr., Granite Quarry; sister Jane Beck, Rockwell; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Christiana Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Carl Haynes. Burial, Shiloh United Methodist Church cemetery, Granite Quarry.
Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.
