ROCKWELL - Mrs. Lillie Esther Morgan Sides, 91, of Rockwell, passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at White Oak Manor in Newberry, S.C.

Esther was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late M. Lee Morgan and Margie Poole Morgan. Esther was educated at Rockwell School and American School of Chicago.

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Salisbury, past Sunday School teacher and choir member and active in all phases of the church as long as her health permitted.

She was a life-member of the Southern Seminary Auxiliary, a member of Liberty Extension Community and Association and the Happy Knitters of Rockwell. Before retirement she was a seamstress for Rowan Industries in Rockwell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Henry "Hank" Sides, on July 7, 2006.

Survivors include son Floyd E. Sides Sr. (Barbara) of Newberry, S.C.; brother Wilmer "Nick" Morgan; two grandchildren, Kim (Benny) Havird of Newberry, S.C., and Gene Sides of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kelsey Havird of Newberry.

Service and Visitation: Graveside Service is 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Salisbury, conducted by Rev. Darrell Norris, interim pastor. Visitation will follow the graveside service at the cemetery.

Memorials: St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
