Georgia Miller Almond
Georgia Miller Almond, 83, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday January 26, 2022 at home under Carolina Caring Hospice.
She was born December 28, 1938 in Rowan County, to the late George Washington Miller and Clara Lois Murph Miller. Georgia was educated in the Rowan County School System and later went on to work and retire as a Nurse. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Salisbury. Georgia enjoyed serving in her church and was active in genealogy work as she researched her family roots and was a great source of information for those in similar pursuits.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Almond, whom she married on October 13, 2001 and brothers Everette and Larry.
Georgia is survived by her children, Darlene D. Lankford and husband Gary, Glenn “Doc” Doby and wife Brenda, Tammy Draughon and husband Kevin, Dale Miracle and husband Mike, Jennifer Goodman, Tammy Eudy, Monica Nichols, and George F. Almond and wife Amy; grandchildren, Brandi Lazaris and husband Mike, Aaron Lindsay and wife Regina, Russell Lindsay and wife Chacity, Jatana Taylor and husband Jack, Daniel Doby, Caleb Doby and wife Nikkie, Kaylee Draughon-Durney and husband Christian, Tori Draughon, Kimber Draughon, Tavin Draughon, Braydan Beggs, Jessica Thompson and husband Phillip, Joseph Eudy, Keri McCombs, Isaiah Nichols and wife Rachel, Rachel Nichols, Kaley Almond, and Emily Almond; great-grandchildren, Seth, Emily, Kelsey, Jalen, Alona, Hannah, Abby, Jaelyn, Jolene, Oliver, Eiley, Will, Alex, Samantha, Kaitlyn, Dylan and Ryan.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, February 3, 2022, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 4, 2022, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1255 Julian Road, Salisbury, NC.
Burial will take place in the Rowan Memorial Park.
