Salisbury, NC - Mrs. Julia Mae Buchanan Edens, 73 of Salisbury passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Universal Health Care in Concord, NC.
Mrs. Edens was born on July 30, 1940 in Rowan County, daughter of the late Reece H. Buchanan and Willie Edna Waller Buchanan.
Mrs. Edens was a graduate of the New Hanover High School. She had retired as a Service Representative with Bell South.
Mrs. Edens was a Member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Salisbury and had also been a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Wilmington. She was a lifetime member of Pioneers.
Mrs. Edens is survived by her son, Eugene A. Edens, III of Salisbury, daughter Tammy Hill and Husband Taylor of Wilmington and her sister, Martha Bender of Georgia.
Visitation: The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at St. Peters Lutheran Church.
Services: The funeral service will be at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at St. Peters Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. James Fore, Interim Pastor at St. Peters Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Green Lawn Cemetery in Wilmington, NC.
Memorials may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church.
