U.S. Veteran Jimmy Ray Whitley, Sr., age 64, of Midland, N.C., died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at his home - 9751 Troutman Road in Midland, N.C.
Born April 4, 1945, he was the son of the late J. V. Whitley and J.V. (Burris) Whitley.
He is survived by his wife Janice Elaine (Lisenby) Whitley; two Daughters, Shelly (Whitley) Cochran of Stanfield, N.C.; Jo Ann Carroll of Concord, N.C.; two Sons, Kenneth Wayne Whitley of Midland, N.C., Jimmy Ray Whitley, Jr. of Belmont, N.C.; twelve grandchildren One great-grandchild
He is also preceded in death by his sister Della Mae Whitley.
Whitley, Sr. was employed by Sears as a mechanic.
He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
